The Mayor of Bromley, Cllr David McBride was joined by the Lord Mayor of Bromley’s twinned town Neuwied in Rhineland Germany, Herr Nikolaus Roth to launch the Bromley Town Twinning Association’s website. Herr Roth made a special visit to Bromley at the weekend to take part in the ceremony. The launch ceremony was held at Bromley Civic Centre on Friday 3rd June.

The Chairman of the Bromley-Neuwied twinning association, Peter Brown, said: “Twinning is all about bringing people together and creating opportunities for people in our two towns to experience and explore another culture. Our website, by harnessing the potential of the internet, will help us to keep our Association members well informed and will show the wider audience how we put these opportunities into practice. The website will be a great asset both in the run up to our celebration of twenty five years of town twinning next year and in years beyond.” The Association’s website address is www.bromleytowntwinning.co.uk
Officially launching the website, Councillor McBride congratulated the Association on its development and said that he had personally learned much from its content about Bromley’s twinned town and the opportunities for friendships through twinning activities. Herr Roth reinforced these comments, expressing his personal pleasure with the lively partnership between Bromley and Neuwied. He said: “Many valuable and lasting friendships had been made and 2012 will be a very special year celebrating the twenty five years of twinning.”
